The takeaway here seems to be that great service staff in restaurants and stores is all that's needed to change your perception about life.
Sole reason to give Dear Maya a chance is Koirala. The actress uses her cosmetics free face and weary eyes to bring depth to the silence. She ensures there is intrigue around a woman who hasn't really been given a compelling background story to justify her extreme circumstances. Her affecting presence that showcases Maya's vulnerability makes you glad that she's back. But even Koirala can't salvage this cloying affair.
